 ISO 14001:2004
ISO 14001 is an environmental management standard existing to help organizations minimize their negative impact on the environment. “It specifies requirements for establishing an environmental policy, determining environmental aspects and impacts of products/activities/services, planning environmental objectives and measureable targets, implementation and operation of programs to meet objectives and targets, checking and corrective action, and management review.”

ISO 9001:2008 is an internationally recognized quality management system developed by the International Organization for Standardization. The ISO process emphasizes the importance of quality standards in procedures, processes, documentation, and employee involvement. These requirements include the customer’s quality requirements, applicable regulatory requirements, enhancing customers’ satisfaction, and continual improvement of performance.
Being an ISO 9001:2008 certified manufacturer means that H-B customers receive the highest quality and most reliable products based on our exacting requirements.  ISO/IEC 17025:2005
ISO/IEC 17025:2005 is based on the internationally accepted criteria for competence. It covers testing and calibration performed using standard methods, non-standard methods, and laboratory-developed methods.
The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) is a non-profit organization whose mission is “to provide comprehensive services in laboratory accreditation and laboratory-related training”.

 ILAC
The International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) is an international cooperation of laboratory and inspection accreditation bodies formed remove technical barriers to trade. Through bi-lateral and multi-lateral agreements, ILAC established a network of mutual recognition arrangements to support international trade by promoting international confidence and acceptance of accredited laboratory data.

 EnviroKleen™
ChemTel is internationally recognized for its leadership in environmental compliance solutions with intricate knowledge of hazardous chemicals and environmental regulations. EnviroKleen™ third party certification identifies products and services that are environmentally friendly and socially responsible. In order to achieve this certification, the entire manufacturing and packaging process and materials must be fully examined while observing key environmental and human health issues relevant to each product line. H-B Instrument Company’s Enviro-Safe® and Easy-Read® Thermometers have achieved EnviroKleen™ certification for both the thermometer itself and the packaging. Both product lines were found to be “environmentally friendly” and are certified safe for personal, commercial, and industrial use. No other thermometer on the planet has achieved this certification!

 NIST
National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) is a non-regulated federal agency whose mission is “to promote US innovation and industrial competitiveness by advancing measurement science, standards, and technology in ways that enhance economic security and improve our quality of life”.
H-B Instrument Company uses thermometer and hydrometer standards traceable to NIST to determine the accuracy of its thermometers. Enviro-Safe®, Easy-Read® Double-Safe®, and FRIO-Temp® thermometers are just a few of the items that come complete with a Statement of Accuracy indicating accuracy traceable to NIST.
 DKD
Deutscher Kalibrierdienst (DKD) is a European association of calibration laboratories accredited and supervised by the Accreditation Body of Deutscher Kalibrier-dienst. “The DKD calibration certificates issued by these laboratories prove traceability to national standards as required in the ‘standards family’ ISO 9000 and the ISO/IED 17025.
H-B Instrument Company uses thermometer standards traceable to NIST to determine the accuracy of its thermometers. Enviro-Safe®, Easy-Read® Double-Safe®, and FRIO-Temp® thermometers are just a few of the items that come complete with a Statement of Accuracy indicating accuracy traceable to DKD.
